The Storm, Apocalypse Tapestry
The Storm, Apocalypse Tapestry shows the effects of a storm, illustrating the Book of Revelation. Also called L'Orage, it is from the immense late 14th century masterpiece on display in a long hall adjoining the Chateau of Angers. The Apocalypse Tapestries were commissioned by Louis I of Anjou in 1373 and woven by Nicolas Bataille. Some of these scenes are today woven in France by Jules Pansu in 95% cotton. All are lined with a rod pocket for easy wall-hanging. We enclose information about how to hang a tapestry with your order.
